SUPERCHARGERS LABORATORY
This entity exists within INCDT-COMOTI for a long time, developed from own resources, to aid solving experimentation requirements of the Institute's main field of activity, meaning turbine machinery.
General components:
a. Drive system;
b. Closed circuit fluid circulation system;
c. Electric force system;
d. Automation and control system;
e. Fluid parameter conditioning system.
a. Drive system is made of:
1. Continuous current electric engine of 600 kw power and adjustable speed. It is endowed with an air cooler system. Fig 1.
2. output shaft force multiplier. Fig 2.
3. Automated oiling system for drive system.

Turbine machinery testing bench can execute a maximum speed of 60 000 RPM, any speed between 0 and 60 000 RPM can be reached and maintained during testing.
b+e Closed circuit fluid circulation and fluid parameter conditioning systems
Insures, in tested turbine machine's circuit, fluid parameters required by the client or the current application.
To be able to do this, the installation is foreseen with an auxiliary BAUER piston compressor, made for pressures of up to 250 bar. The installation has the ability to heat/cool the working fluid through it's heat exchangers.
c. Electric force system
It's made of the electric force engine's control and automation block.
d. Automation and control system
The bench is worked by a specialized process computer, executing all of the command and control sequences programmed within each bench testing.
Also includes a command terminal to present in an organized easy to interpret the testing installation's base parameters during tests.
A new real time data acquisition installation is in development.
In the laboratory are working one mechanic and two scientific researchers.
RENAR is being certified.
